There is no need to say many words about Ibanez artist Paul Gilbert in Guitarist Circles. As one of the most iconic figures of the Shrapnel Records era, the American guitarist has become one of the most influential artists on the rock and metal scene. At just 15 years of age, he moved to Hollywood, California to study guitar at the renowned Musicians Institute, where he later worked as a teacher himself. In 1985, Gilbert founded the band Racer X together with Billy Sheehan, which became known for its technically demanding heavy metal sound and with Gilbert's fast-paced playing technique. Paul Gilbert achieved his international breakthrough with the founding of the band Mr. Big. The band achieved worldwide success with hits such as “To Be with You” or “Just Take My Heart.” Her album Lean into It from 1991 became a multi-platinum hit and cemented Paul's reputation as a versatile musician. Despite the success, he left Mr. Big in 1997 to pursue his solo career. As a solo artist, Paul has released over a dozen albums that reflect both his virtuosity and his willingness to experiment. He is known for his melodic approach, which combines technique and musicality, and he has developed the guitar as a lead and rhythm instrument in an innovative way. We are pleased to present Paul Gilbert at IGF25 in an unprecedented band constellation. Accompanied by Anika Nilles on drums and Linus Klausenitzer on bass, Paul will bring an impressive live set to the stage that will inspire any fan of guitar-driven music.
