The Ibanez JEM2K DNA is a unique special model for guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, which was produced in early 2000 as part of the Y2K Millennium series, in addition to the GB2K for George Benson and the JS2K for Joe Satriani. The JEM2K is unique in the history of Ibanez, as several violas from Steve Vais blood have been mixed into the color of the Swirl finish. The body of the JEM2K is made of American linden. The neck is made of maple and bubinga with a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets and a special DNA inlay. Another visually striking highlight are the colored DiMarzio Breed pickups in HSH configuration with a transparent acrylic pickguard. Only 300 copies have been produced worldwide, each one of which is unique, as it was hand-swirled by Darren Johannson from About Time Design.
